ISDN and PSTN networks are being phased out
The way telephone services are delivered is being modernised.
Traditional business phone lines utilise the old ‘box on the wall’ PBX systems using ISDN lines. These are being phased out in favour of fully digital systems called VoIP (Voice over IP) or VoIP Telecoms.
Since early 2020, new ISDN lines have not been offered and existing systems are to be turned off by 2025.
We offer fully hosted VoIP systems that remove the need for costly ISDN lines and the associated maintenance costs and instead rely solely on your broadband connection.

Your questions answered
Here are our most commonly asked questions about our telecoms and broadband services.
What is VoIP?
Voice over IP (VoIP) is a type of phone technology that lets you take and make phone calls over the internet without using traditional phone lines. VoIP has more features and better-quality calls than traditional phone lines, which is why many businesses are switching over.
Why do I need VoIP?
VoIP offers many advantages over your traditional phone services like conference calling, higher call quality and scalability.

BT Switch Off 2025
BT announced that by 2025, all analogue telephone services (PSTN and ISDN) will be switched off completely, impacting businesses, homes, but also a range of IoT systems.
For businesses in-particular, VoIP call systems are the natural course of progression, and should therefore be a consideration – although you’ll have to make the switch at some point!
Learn more about the 2025 PSTN Switch-off, or get in touch to get ahead of the trend and avoid joining long queues to change over your telecom systems.
What do I need for a VoIP system?
The minimum you need for your VoIP system is a handset and internet connection! There’s a lot of additional products you can also use with your VoIP system like your mobile and computer.
Does VoIP work if the internet is down?
Unfortunately, not. VoIP requires an internet connection to work, that’s why we suggest upgrading to reliable business broadband, so you don’t have any downtime.
However, should your broadband connection fail, you can collect calls using the mobile app and choose to forward calls to designated mobile phones.
Will I lose my numbers?
No! As part of the free switch over setup we will port your numbers from your current provider into our cloud hosted VOIP telecoms platform at NO COST, all part of the setup.
We get the system configured so its literally just plug and play.
Will I lose service?
No! We configure the system to be usable on your existing numbers straight away through our advanced platform features and via number forwarding.
Can you supply broadband?
Yes! We offer competitive fibre business broadband as well as dedicated leased lines ideal for small to medium sized businesses.
Of course, if you already have decent broadband then we can just as easily use that.
