What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a government backed scheme in which a company fills in a self-declared questionnaire to gain a Cyber Essentials certification. This can then be searched for on the IASME database.
Cyber Essentials is essentially a commitment from your company to show that you are doing all you can to protect not your company data but also the data of the customers and/or suppliers that they hold information for.

What is Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials Plus is an upgrade to Cyber Essentials in which an external auditor verifies via remote session the steps declared in the original questionnaire. Cyber Essentials plus is usually only required if a customer is planning on taking on gov contracts / security contracts or contracts/work that requires a higher level of security.

No extra charges for re-submissions
With our Cyber Essentials package we do NOT charge re-submission fees as some others do!
If after submitting the questionnaire something comes back as not right, we do not charge to resubmit. It’s unlimited re-submits until compliance is verified. Of course, if any work is required to get that compliance, then this would potentially be chargeable, but we allow for several hours of our time in our standard Cyber Essentials package to help you out.
Cyber Active Protect App
Our package also comes with the Cyber Active Protect app. This app is installed on your computer and enables us to receive reports to our Cyber Portal, with details on any issues that fall out of compliance before we fill in the questionnaire. This help advise our team who can then fix the issues remotely.
The Cyber Active Protect app also tracks compliance as an ongoing concern. Often customers who might be compliant on the day of submission may find that someone pops up which technically makes them non-compliant later down the line – This app will inform us of that and allow us to advise the customer accordingly. Having a data breach can be costly if a company is found to be non-compliant, and so this ongoing Active Protect can help with this.
What do we recommend?
We offer Cyber Essentials based on the number of users in the business and the price is a per year cost. Cyber needs renewing each year. The renewal price will likely be lower assuming no major compliance changes have been made but the renewal price after the 1st year would be based on what work is required to ensure your business is compliant or if the number of users has changed etc.
